It is right and good to defend the faith of Christ through apologetics against the scoffer and skeptic in their wrong-headed objections.
But there is no need for us to defend the LORD Almighty when He is more than able to defend Himself by way of prophecies born true and completed.
He said through the prophet Isaiah circa 700 B.C: “Therefore the LORD himself will give you a sign: The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel(That is ‘God with us’).”Isaiah 7:14
And again, Isaiah: “For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and peace there will be no end. He will reign on David’s throne and over his kingdom, establishing and upholding it with justice and righteousness from that time on and forever. The zeal of the LORD Almighty will accomplish this.” Isaiah 9:6-7
The inception of the fulfillment of this prophecy was accomplished with the birth of Jesus, the Christ. The completion was His death, burial and resurrection; the finalizing will be with His return.
Almighty God told us Somebody was coming – and He came. And He tells us that the same Somebody is coming again, to take charge of that which is already His possession. And we know it’s true because the Sovereign Lord has always completed that which He says He will bring about.
Let us remember this Christmas not only His birth, but that He is the Once and Future King of all creation. He is the Alpha and the Omega.
“Behold, I am coming soon! My reward is with me, and I will give to everyone according to what he has done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.” Rev. 22:12-13
“Yes, I am coming soon.”
