“Doctor, how much longer? He is very active!” my mother asked the doctor.
“Not yet. About one month more.” the doctor answered.
“Oh, dear,” my mother sighed, not knowing this was the easy part.
Air To Breathe
Six miles above the ground
Air to breathe can’t be found
Descend now to quaff some air
Can anything sound quite as fair
How more esteemed than air to breathe
Food for the spirit more than a breeze
Spirit is life, air is spirit, God exhales making
Us to be with Him, it is His to do the taking.
It ain’t over till it’s over. When we hear Him saying
Come up here! Well done! But I’m weary of you straying!
~G.W.
For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, in order that he might be the firstborn among many brothers. 30 And those whom he predestined he also called, and those whom he called he also justified, and those whom he justified he also glorified. ~Romans 8:29-30
Startling post, G.W. What is the back story here?

It is a compacted allusion to a stressful life and God’s grace. Including the anticipated final breath under His grace.
More of like is peppered in bits and pieces through various posts over five years of this blog.
It’s strictly from a personal viewpoint, considering all generational life periods can be said to be complicated and fraught with difficulties.

Beautiful post, G.W. Reading both posts, “Esteemed” and “Air to Breathe” I pictured a baby being born and God giving the child her first breath and first cries. Thank you for this!

Thank you, Cherie. I have long thought about what it must feel like for a newborn baby’s experience upon arrival.
I often imagined it to a feeling of falling from a great height wrapped in a cloud, landing on the birthing table, and gulping it’s first breath of air as though God had just breathed life into him/her. So you were amazingly close to my meaning in your picture!

You’re very welcome, G.W. And I’m glad I was close. I often try to put what I read in pictures and it helps with comprehension so much.
