I know what I have seen. What have I seen? How can I explain it? I have seen…I have seen…I have seen with my spiritual eyes, I have seen. With the orbs in my head I have seen things my intellect has told me I have seen, though on occasion not accurately. Knowing matters I know, I’m hoping with a sure hope, events yet to come.
Out of the depths I cry to you, O Lord!
O Lord, hear my voice!
Let your ears be attentive
to the voice of my pleas for mercy!
[I deserve nothing from You my Lord. There is no good in me of my own that I can claim deserves your attention. You alone are all good. In Your goodness You show mercy. It is Your merciful goodness for which I cry out to You.]
If you, O Lord, should mark iniquities,
O Lord, who could stand?
But with you there is forgiveness,
that you may be feared.
[O wretch that I am who deserves only to kneel before You in judgement, Your perfect and righteous judgement of condemnation. I depend only on Your mercy and promises of your word. In Your goodness You bring me willingly to continued repentance.]
I wait for the Lord, my soul waits,
and in his word I hope;
[In waiting is my expectation. Your word is my deliverance.]
my soul waits for the Lord
more than watchmen for the morning,
more than watchmen for the morning.
[As the watchman know the morning is coming, so my hope is knowing You are faithful.]
O Israel, hope in the Lord!
For with the Lord there is steadfast love,
and with him is plentiful redemption.
[Israel = the name means “one who wrestles with God.” I have wrestled with You many times O Lord. I have learned through Your stubborn love, peace comes by trusting You. Trust comes by remembering the many times You have redeemed me from my circumstances, from myself.]
And he will redeem Israel (ones who wrestles with God)
from all his iniquities.
[you who wrestle with God be still, and know He is God!]
Amen!

My Soul Waits for the Lord – Psalm 130
A Song of Ascents.
“For everyone who calls upon the name of the Lord [invoking Him as Lord] will be saved.” Romans 10:13
Faith and hope are like eye glasses to our dim eyes in the things of God. But then we started out blind.

Yes, God is a good eye doctor.
I once was lost but now am found,
Was blind but now I see.
