Spirit says Come

His love is the reason He made a way to offer His grace over judgment. Anger has no part in God’s judgment of mankind. For we rightfully deserve His judgment against us. Don’t you know that it is God’s goodness that leads us to repentance?

If His goodness through grace isn’t good enough, I’m afraid we will just have to accept that our penalty is on our own heads. So, please, do accept the goodness of His grace through Christ Jesus His Son, our Savior. His is the kinder, gentler, and only way of entering eternity while escaping the gaping maw of perdition. -G.W.

“I am not afraid of being charged, as I often am,

of trying to frighten you, for I am definitely trying to do so.

If the wondrous love of God in Christ Jesus and the hope of glory is not sufficient to attract you-

-then such is the value I attach to the worth of your soul, that I will do my utmost to alarm you with a sight of the terrors of Hell!”

D. Martyn Lloyd-Jones

( I agree with the good Doctor)

Wisdom shouts to the multitude

She cries loudly in public assemblies

She throws her veil over throngs,

To those in the teeming streets,

“How long, you of stubborn minds,

Will you insist you don’t understand?

How long will you revilers revel in your mockery?

How long will you of arrogance hate knowledge?

Soon I AM closing the door of invitation.

You have spurned me and mocked me.

You have turned a deaf ear to my entreaty.

Since you have spurned me as refuse in the street,

When calamity overtakes you as a tsunami,

And disaster sweeps in to overpower you,

When distress and trouble flood over you,

I will spurn you and say I never knew you.”

G.W. IMOW from Proverbs 1: 20-29

The one and only ‘Escape Clause’ in all of scripture is Jesus Christ and Him crucified.

  1. I can’t even begin to think of a worse horror then God saying “get away I never knew you”
I cannot wish it on my worst enemy. An agnostic friend told me once that I was too outspoken about my faith, I said “thank you”.

    1. I so agree. This world has no horror to compare with the thought of hearing the Savior God say those words.

Too outspoken about your faith in Christ? Such a compliment, Gary!
Maybe tell him you want to tie a rope connected from you to him. If you die first, you’ll drag him up with you. If he dies first, you have a sharp knife to cut the rope. How outspoken is that? LOL.

      1. That’s a good one GW. We are at that point in the conversation where he knows his disbelief has nothing to do with “Truth”. I have encouraged him to find something more satisfying than what I have (He says I have something he doesn’t and he wants it) He does not believe me that it is Jesus and there is only one way to God. He is a computer programmer and I have assured him there are no “back doors”

      1. John 3:16 in a way hinges on the last 3 words. God’s love and the sacrifice He made for us, the blessing of belief and that He gave us freedom of belief, and these are only a few things that explain why we absolutely should not perish but have everlasting life.

  2. II Cor. 5:14-15 for the love of Christ controls us, having concluded this, that one died for all, therefore all are dead: and He died for all, so that they who live might no longer live for themselves but for Him who died and rose again on their behalf. This the foundation I build my life on, His love for me, not my love for Him for my love is frail often but His never is frail. Love you post, caused me to read this scripture again. Blessings.
