Alas! and did…

God is a very smart fella.

Seems to be letting the evil one

hem the whole world in like rubella,

Now there’s no place to look but up –

or go smartly to hell-a

Politicians no more can save this world

Its leaders caught fatuity fever

Doing everything despotically to bleed her

No place to run, nowhere to fade

Through these scrambled brambles

Closing tighter around this sad, sad

World gone mad.

Failsafe? only the One, King of Kings

Copy

*At the cross, at the cross,

Where I first saw the Light.

And the burden of my heart

Rolled away

It was there by faith

I received my sight,

And now I am happy

(To remain) all my days.

*Hymn from: Alas! And did my Savior bleed

~

The Anchor holds…

Through it all, let us remember our First Love! (Revelation 2:1-6)

This is G.W. signing off.

Peace.

Out.

  1. The last few mornings I’ve found myself chewing on Isaiah 40. Your words brought to mind verses 21-24 about the rules of this world. What a comfort to know that “The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary and His understanding no one can fathom. (40:28). I hope your signing off is only until the next post!

    1. I move from post to post. I don’t know when my last post may be. I only know something is coming and is rising even now. I can no longer ignore it by posting happy, glittering generalities, only. I must find a way to balance the blessings of God with the suffering that will probably increase. For to ignore the gathering evil would make a mockery of His blessings. I don’t know if I am up to that sort of challenge. I’m just not that smart of native ability in my writing if God should direct me onto a different course. Although, I have often said that if God saw fit to send me to hell, even there I would torment the demons by preaching the gospel just to announce my displeasure with them. Ha. Thank you, Beth, for your very kind and gracious words. They were like cool water to a parched tongue! Be blessed, sister!

      1. As I read what you wrote, I had to wonder if this is how Paul felt- “I must find a way to balance the blessings of God with the suffering that will probably increase. For to ignore the gathering evil would make a mockery of His blessings. I don’t know if I am up to that sort of challenge.” Yet, the Holy Spirit gave Him the words to write letters to the church that balanced warnings and admonishment with encouragement and instruction. He will do the same for you GW. The church worldwide desperately needs men like you who understand the times and are willing to boldly proclaim the light of the gospel truth to the dark chaos and delusion that grips our world.

I leave you with a prayer from
2 Thessalonians that jumped out at me today in my Bible reading- “May the Lord Jesus Christ and God our Father (who has loved us and given us unending, encouragement and unfailing hope by His grace) inspire you with courage and confidence in every good thing you say or do.” (2:16 Phillips Translation)

        1. Wow… thank you, Beth. You have helped me more than I can say – at this time. I went to Isaiah and began finding treasures that I mapped out years ago. They may be the beginning for such a time as this. “Whether you turn to the right or the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, ’This is the way; walk in it.’ Isaiah 30:21!
I may call you ‘Deborah’ and consult with you from time to time. Ha. (But not joking).

  2. God is who I trust. When we put our trust in mere man we will be disappointed. I look forward to the coming of my Lord and savior Jesus Christ. I know that God wins and he holds the scales of justice. 🙏🙌
