Courageous

Sometimes I become fretful over the condition of the world.

Sometimes I love to worry about it all. I must love it because I do it so often.

Worry is a candle I often burn from both ends. By the time both ends meet in the middle and burn themselves out, I’m burned out as well.

The above would be true far too often if I let it rule me.

Following are a few things I see and I think about.

I see an empty shell imploding into itself as support is undermined from within.

As it is happening now I see a spreading disease of darkness.

I see regional governors that claim given power as their private fiefdoms.

I see  central government that now has only concern for holding and increasing their private power in a small city that used to govern for the good of a nation and the world.

I see regions by region becoming drifting islands, islands that had been a continent connected for the common good.

I see branches of a former government that are willing to give their former power away to become something else. It is out of cowardice to keep their privileged position, even though its title is an empty shell of days now lost.

I see small-minded men and women now wrest power while wielding swords against imagined enemies. Whereas leaders who listened to the better angel of their natures had at one time exerted the force of law, keeping nations and cultures flourishing. Those statesmen-thinkers used their influence in the past to prosper and grow as a people. They helped one another in more challenging circumstances and united against any enemy who only wanted to destroy.

This then is the growing condition of the world going deeper into darkness. It is a world without laws, ruled by people whose god is their power over those who understand that such power cannot exist for long, or nobody would survive. For the sake of the elect, these days of destructive suicide will be shortened. Megalomania and its followers will reach the height of its pinnacle. It will reach high enough for the upper Winds to carry them away like dust, and their illusions of self-aggrandizement shattered forever.

In the meantime, the attack against our souls is growing. We need our Anchor affixed within. Jesus first coming was spiritually attacked mainly by an increase in demonic possession, it seems. This time it appears it is more subtle but more insidious. Our minds, emotions, and wills are being undermined to weaken our resolve. But we are not hollow eggshells to be broken. Our strength is within and without, inhabited and covered by the Spirit of Jesus. We need to keep this perspective.

We know it will take some determination to stand firm with our trust in Jesus increasingly, and solidly centered, in our minds, emotions, and wills. That means not becoming discouraged by up and down days. And not allowing fretful worry to distract us from the final sure outcome. And, of course, regular and targeted prayer as we are led by the Spirit. This as we immerse ourselves in Bible, not forsaking it. This then is reality, a reality changing from the physical to the eternal.

The results of when this darkness runs its course were written in the Holy Scriptures 2-4 thousand years ago, called prophesy. It is not retribution; it is God’s Judgement on sin at His second coming in the Person of Christ Jesus. Therefore, let us continue to fight the good fight, run the race, and persevere in keeping the faith. The good Lord doesn’t ask much more of us than this. He will accomplish the rest. For we have trusted in Your lovingkindness;
Our hearts shall rejoice in Your salvation.
We will sing to the LORD,
Because He has dealt bountifully with us. Paraphrase Psalm 13:5,6

~G.W.

This is what the Sovereign Lord, the Holy One of Israel, says:

“In repentance and rest is your salvation,

in quietness and trust is your strength -Isaiah 30:15

“Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me.

2 In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.

3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.

4 And where I go you know, and the way you know.” -John 14:1-4 NKJV

Let us Behold our God!

  1. Thank you for these words GW!! Anytime I hear the headlines I can feel my anxiety level rise and worries quickly begin to clog up my mind, but as soon as I step away and look at it through the lens of the Word I can feel the anxiety melt away. Lately I find myself turning more often to the book of Isaiah for understanding and comfort. As I read your post, Isaiah 43:8-13 came to mind.

    1. Thank you, Beth. I think having a bit of jitters in these days is a good thing in that it means we have a clear grasp of the situation and the meaning. I like your reference to Isaiah 43:8-13. If God calls us to nothing more, He does call us as witnesses to testify to what we do see. Isaiah and Ezekiel have long been two of my favorite books in the OT for what they say to us in these last days.

    1. So true, Gary.
“If God doesn’t judge America He will have to apologize to Sodom and Gomorrah.” Ruth Graham, wife of Billy, said that. Goes for all nations riding the rapids in the same boat.
