His voice in a whisper quieted my wandering thoughts.
“Post for remembrance.”
But what shall I post?
“Ask what you will, I will give it to you.”
May I put it in song using another’s voice since I can’t sing?
“I will receive it as your song of remembrance.”
Therefore, I sing to You this prayer. May it be a pleasing sound in Your ear.
Prayer:
Be Thou my vision, O Lord of my heart;
Naught be all else to me, save that Thou art;
Thou my best thought, by day or by night;
Waking or sleeping, Thy presence my light.
2 Be Thou my wisdom, and Thou my true Word;
I ever with Thee and Thou with me, Lord;
Thou my great Father and I, Thy true son;
Thou in me dwelling, and I with Thee one.
3 Riches I heed not, nor man’s empty praise;
Thou mine inheritance, now and always;
Thou and Thou only, first in my heart;
O King of glory, my treasure Thou art.
4 O King of glory, my victory won;
Rule and reign in me ’til Thy will be done;
Heart of my own heart, whatever befall;
Still be my vision, O Ruler of all.
“You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you. 4 Remain in me, as I also remain in you.” [John 15:3-4]
Thank you G.W. One of my favorite hymns, and I agree, wonderful prayer.
