And I, brethren, when I came to you, did not come with excellence of speech or of wisdom declaring to you the testimony of God. 2 For I determined not to know anything among you except Jesus Christ and Him crucified. [1 Corinthians 2:1-2]
“I determined to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ and Him crucified.”
This is a very humble confession on the surface. But, in essence, it is an open door leading to a wealth of information in the bible that spans four thousand years of related documentation from Genesis to Revelation. Getting to know God, His plan of salvation of mankind. And who, by the way, we get to know better than we think we know ourselves.
The implication of this humble-sounding but weighty statement is an open door to a vast treasure and great wealth of information leading us toward eternity.
“I decided to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ and Him crucified.” And everything that comes with learning more from Him. So, the door opens in an ever-widening arc, revealing all things.
