Wherever You May Be

An exhortation for all who claim the Name of Christ everywhere across the globe.
Bible is the word of God and the only rule and standard for faith and practice for the Christian.

Hebrews 5:7-14

7 In the days of his flesh, Jesus offered up prayers and supplications, with loud cries and tears, to Him who was able to save Him from death, and He was heard because of His reverence. 8 Although He was a son, He learned obedience through what He suffered. 9 And being made perfect, He became the source of eternal salvation to all who obey Him, 10 being designated by God a high priest after the order of Melchizedek.

11 About this we have much to say, and it is hard to explain, since you have become dull of hearing. 12 For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you again the basic principles of the oracles of God. You need milk, not solid food, 13 for everyone who lives on milk is unskilled in the word of righteousness, since he is a child. 14 But solid food is for the mature, for those who have their powers of discernment trained by constant use to distinguish good from evil.

6:1 Therefore let us move beyond the elementary teachings about Christ and be taken forward to maturity, not laying again the foundation of repentance from acts that lead to death, and of faith in God.

Redundancy of teaching can be useful as reminders. However, continuous redundancy can become stagnant waters. Feeding of milk only, will make the faithful flock wander in search of greener pastures (more solid food) and the faithful should.

“Not many of you should become teachers, my fellow believers, because you know that we who teach will be judged more strictly.” James 3:1

Are you preaching/teaching for your own glory or for God’s glory, the feeding of His lambs?

~G.W. [just reflecting over a lifetime of mistakes, making many and sins, sinning too much]

  1. I have taken that warning about teachers being judged seriously much of my life G.W.
A common dream is me sneaking in to the meeting and standing against the wall in the back of the room, then everyone turns around and I find I am really in front of the room as they were waiting for the teacher.

    1. I don’t think the warning was to cause fear among those God appointed for the blessing of being His spokesman. I was surprised at how many bragged they could preach/teach because they had a natural flair for speaking and would like to be in the lime lite. They are who should take heed if not called for God’s purpose. He has a way of humbling them before an audience.
However, an apostate who knowingly twists the word of God is in danger of God’s stricter judgement.
It definitely should not be taken too lightly to be called of God in accord with His purpose to feed His sheep.
I found it a very sobering experience when I first stepped up there.
And six months of daily teaching to begin to feel comfortable.
When it becomes a recognizable blessing, the blessing lingers. God is so good!!
