The Morning News

Well, Good Morning to all sojourners across the earth!

  • [Edit: Some interesting comments in Comment section have been added]

The Morning News: Be it nominal news or bad news, whatever they’re selling I’m not buying. Any prime news homed in on my inbox is deleted unopened w/o ceremony. No TV, no random newspaper explaining something I haven’t missed. All Basic Information Before Leaving Earth I need can be found in one dependable place.

As for me:

Tho they slay me, yet will I trust God.

When all churches deny Him, yet will I claim Him.

If I am reviled, called evil, rejected, exiled to prisons for believing His Word,

I will embrace His Word closer to my heart.

I plant both feet at the foot of the cross,

Steady, I will remain steadfast.

I will not call conspiracy all that these people call conspiracy,

I will not fear what they fear,

Nor will I dread it.

The Lord Almighty is the One I will regard Holy,

He is the one I will fear,

He is the one I will dread.

He alone has the power of life and death over me.

His power of love casts out all fear.

And He alone will be my true sanctuary.

When they consult mediums and spiritists,

Who mutter and whisper,

I will inquire of the Lord Almighty.

I do not consult the dead on behalf of the living.

To the Law and to the testimony!

If they do not speak according to this word,

They have no light of dawn within them.

Here I stand!

I shall not be moved!

“Do not call conspiracy
    everything this people calls a conspiracy;
do not fear what they fear,
    and do not dread it.

The Lord Almighty is the one you are to regard as holy,
he is the one you are to fear,
he is the one you are to dread.” (Isaiah 8:12-13)

“The Solid Rock.” An amazingly well done video! You are graciously invited to partake.

Christ’s church universal IS united.

“You’re gonna have to serve somebody, yes indeed. You’re gonna have to serve somebody. Well, it may be the devil or it may be the Lord. But you’re gonna have to serve somebody.”

– Bob Dylan (“Gotta Serve Somebody”)

If you think you’re serving yourself only well, Surprise! Up pops the devil because it’s the madcap, satan himself you’re ungraciously serving.

  1. Beautifully articulated, G.W. I’m right there with you. I ceased from all “news” several months ago and came to the pleasant realization that I don’t need any of it in my day-to-day life and things are surprisingly more peaceful without it. It may be for others to spend themselves in the culture wars, but it’s not for me. We fight for the everlasting kingdom and the weapons of our warfare are spiritual. Every nation on earth will be judged and found wanting. Why fight for that which will be condemned at the last? If the pagans worry about such things then we ought to know that our place is to instead put His kingdom first and He will add to us all that He knows we need. Wonderful application of the Isaiah passage (one of my personal favorites these days)! May the Lord bless you.

    1. Thanks, Craig! I know, right? The “news” and the culture wars. It’s fairly easy to discern the signs of the time. Public arguing against the “Culture Engineers” seems to me to be an exercise in futility. They’ve been at it for thirty years fundamentally changing America and the western culture, denying it the whole time, while infiltrating the institutional churches. When C.S. Lewis wrote his book, “The Abolition of Man” back in the 1940s, he probably saw this coming.
You said it all so well, Craig. Thanks for adding so much of your insight!
We can count on only One who has been faithfully with us all along. And promised, faithfully, to never leave us nor forsake us. Christ is the real Power over all and will unquestionably prove so in His own good time! May the good Lord bless you, also!

      1. My dad used to say something like “Just throw in a video tape of the news from 1971 because nothing has changed in the news since then.”

I see what he means now.

Oh, and about infiltrating the mainstream churches? Do tell more. I have long been troubled about this very thing.

Good to read your written thoughts again, brother.

        1. Thank you, Steeny. So good to see you again. I hope you have been well!

Answer: the infiltration of changing culture is changing the institutional church.

The mainstream Church institutions historically oversee the purity of the denomination’s Biblical orthodoxy (biblical Truth, mainly) and orthopraxy (the church’s teaching and practice among their leaders). This oversight of the lower churches is also attached to and under their watch-care.

Infiltration of changing culture has long been a fact to minor degrees in the past—mainly fashions of clothes and slight changes of practice in the style of worship.
However, taking place now is a significant rebellion against both orthodoxies and orthopraxy. And rebellion against Christ’s very authority at the top of the institutional overseers. This is causing substantial splits both at the top and in local churches. Those who hold to Christ’s power are leaving and forming independent churches or leaving the church to worship at home. This infiltration isn’t just about fashion; the reaction to it is about rejecting anti-Christ takeovers. These anti-Christ teachings are culture-changing thinking of cultural leaders and politics. “Anti-Christ” means those who hate and want to erase Christ’s teachings, the Bible, God Himself, and those who refuse to buckle under their cultural engineering. And this is happening globally on an enormous scale. It involves all the major institutions of Western culture. The speed and magnitude in which this is happening are unparalleled in history.

          1. May that speed and magnitude propel us into the presence of our Lord. Boom! In the twinkling of an eye.

I have been breathing. I can’t say it’s always been in a state of being well, though. Physically mostly well, but mentally severely strained.

  2. Love it G.W.
We are a lot alike. I delete everything as well. The birds singing outside lead me into worship and a right frame of mind much better than anything man made these days. My bible lays open on the bench where I sit each morning (and is read, underlined, savored, commented upon and underlined. What a rock to launch into each day from….Good morning to you.

  3. “So All Basic Information Before Leaving Earth I need can be found in one dependable place.” Oh how blessed we are to have the one dependable place to stand! Thank you for the entirety of this post GW! For me it echoes verses from the Psalms that I’ve been sitting with each morning to remind me of where I need to be standing – “Blessed are those who dwell in Your house; they are ever praising You . . . Better is one day in Your courts than a thousand elsewhere: I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than dwell in the tents of the wicked.” Psalm 85: 4 & 10

    1. Thank you, Beth. I agree, these are the days where it would be easy to lose our compass setting if we didn’t keep it pointed in the direction of True North. Christ’s Truth is ground that never shifts. It doesn’t need decorative accoutrements to draw attention. He Shines!
“Because the Sovereign Lord helps me, I will not be disgraced. Therefore, have I set my face like flint, and I know I will not be put to shame.” Isaiah 50:7

  4. Note: Some comments provide an opening for me to respond so as to speak to any passers-by who may read the comments section of a post w/o leaving evidence of having read. No telling how many may be affected for the better by so doing.
