I Write the Words

It is written He saves our tears in a bottle, writes His laws on our hearts, numbers our days in His book, and counts the number of our hairs. As He is a bookkeeper concerning His attention toward us individually, it seems reasonable that my spoken words in prayers become written words when I speak to Him. He must also have a record book of our prayers written on His heart for us.

When I write the words, I write the words of remembrance.

I write the words of my forsakenness, of His words of forgiveness.

I write the words of my faithlessness, of His words of faithfulness.

I write the words of my brokenness, of His words of His promises.

I write the words of my doubts, of His words and deeds trust establishes.

I write the words of my fear’s invasion, of His words of assured destination.

I write the words of my wisdom folly, of His words ask I give to you fondly.

I write the words of when shall I die, of His determined word – Never.

I write my words in heartfelt prayer, of His words my son come ever near.

~G.W.

Epilogue

[When in doubt, do not pout, just give a shout — HELP!]

Proverbs 30:4

Who has gone up to heaven and come down?

Whose hands have gathered up the wind?

Who has wrapped up the waters in a cloak?

Who has established all the ends of the earth?

What is his name, and what is the name of his son?

    Surely you know!

Dear Reader: I’m glad you asked. His name is Jesus Christ, God’s Son, Savior.

Thank you for your valued time once again.

His word defines Christian faith by believing God, the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

“Abram believed the LORD, and He credited it to him as righteousness.” Gen. 15:6

    1. Thank you, Kendra. Your comment reminded me of Hebrews 4:16 which has a beauty unto itself!

“So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most.” NLT

      1. You seem to have a way of speaking the right words at just the right time. I’ve been a mess lately, and Heb. 4:16 was exactly what I needed for today. 😭🙌

  2. This spoke to me deeply GW! I read through it several times to myself and then aloud just letting it wash over me. The lines that spoke to me loudest were, “I write the words of my brokenness, of His words of His promises./ I write the words of my doubts, of His words and deeds trust establishes./ I write the words of my fear’s invasion, of His words of assured destination.” Thank you for this blessing!
