I look beyond the window scene, each new day I awake.
The Son the actual sun on a cloud-covered, snowy day.
His light brightens the morning sky
His radiance glistens from each snowflake
His Spirit is the song I hum in my waking heart
The Father has provided one more cheery start.
“Coffee?” I ask. “None for Me, we can chat though.”
About conversation, He is always tophat.
Coffee is perking as He carefully thumbs through
the pages of an old, worn book he gave me long ago.
Now in our favorite chairs, I, with my coffee and the dogeared book,
He, with his morning smile and familiar look.
“How was your eventide rest?” He began.
“I had a dream,” I answered.
“Yes, you were following me.” Said He.
“Where were we journeying?” asked I, with interest keen.
“The destination is in that book.” said He. “It was no dream.
You were remembering.
I was leading you back to the path of your first Love. You weren’t far.
You will see soon enough. Open your book, I will then begin.”
“You won’t leave so soon, will You?” asked I, with no chagrin.
“We haven’t eaten.”
“The book was in my hand as you made coffee. Now it is in your hand. We have eaten.”
“I will never leave you!” He assured. “I will be just around. You will never be out of my Way.
As if I should ever go away!”
And it was another sunny day.
The gatekeeper opens the gate for Him, and the sheep listen to his voice. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out…I AM the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved. They will come in and go out and find pasture.
Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me.
Thank You, Lord, for the things you put in my heart. Thank you, Lord, for the words to print on the screen. Thank you, Lord, for everything! Amen!
HAPPY THANKSGIVING WEEK
