Have you ever wondered why people do what they do, think the way they think, and say what they say? Have you ever wondered why some people try to know your private thoughts – and become annoyed because of it? Is having the right to a certain amount of personal privacy important to you? Why do we question God when He doesn’t give us a detailed explanation of His action or inaction?
If I had any other thoughts in way of introduction, they would remain the same.

The secret things belong to God.
I respect the Lord’s privacy.
Never do I desire to know all things,
They are far too much for me.
If ever I should ask amiss
Curiosity wanting just a peek
His answer is a silent kiss,
Meaning I soon enough shall see.
Never do I want to know all,
Too much evil surrounds about me
Enough to know He won’t let me fall.
If I knew God’s secret plans
The enemy would know and call.
~G.W.
“The secret things belong to the Lord our God, but the things revealed belong to us and to our children forever, that we may follow all the words of this law.” Deuteronomy 29:29
Some wise points. Amen

Some of the greatest mysteries He withholds to protect us. For if we are to know, we become compromised in our fallen nature. 💖 simple and profound! Cheers!

Yes, the Lord knows just how much or little he should entrust to me. I’m just glad I answered when he called “walk with me” and I said “I will”

Yes, Gary. Second to the Apostles, Pilgrims Progress describes the trek very well.

Your words remind me of Psalm 131, G.W. It’s only three short verses, but a long goal to live up to.

Interesting observation, David. I wrote it based on Deuteronomy 29:29.

GW, you have hit on something that is so easy to forget- “Never do I want to know all,/ Too much evil surrounds about me.” The Lord in His sovereignty and grace knows we could never handle the full picture. I need to be reminded of that and the importance of having a childlike trust that the only important thing is that He knows.

Thank you, Beth. You are so right. While it’s true trusting Him as a child brings His peace, we are aware the roses of this world have too many thorns to have pure peace while here. Yet, we know the Lord is sovereignly guiding history toward its consummation, Christ’s victory over all.
